WEMBLEY "DANCE FDR ALL"
The gold braid of the Merchant Navy, the Territorials, the Air Force, and the kilties, moving among the charmingly-frocked ladies, made a very pretty picture at the Early Settlers’ Hall on Saturday , night, when there was another very, large attendance. Piper J. Crawford provided the music for the Highland schottische competition, which was somewhat disappointing, both from the number of competitors and the standard of dancing displayed. Mr M'Eachen and Miss Morris were p’aced first, with Private Roy and Miss Waugh second. Leading Aircraftman Andrews and Mrs Andrews (Blenheim) received the third prizes. The net proceeds of this function have been handed to the mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) for the Comforts for Fighters’ Appeal.
