RAVENSBOURNE REGATTA

PERFECT CONDITIONS CLOSE FINISH FOR X CLASS EVENT Almost .perfect regatta conditions were responsible for some interesting racing at the Ravensbourne fixture on Saturday afternoon. The X class_ yachts, of course, attracted most attention; and this race was closely contested. First over the lino was Lynette, followed by Wampa, and then Evelyn, Avenger, and Ripple almost together. Her eight-minute handicap, however, gave Rowena tire race, with Heather second, and Ripple third. Koneke, off seven minutes, won the event for yachts, 18ft and under, from Annette, another Idlealohg, Rival, being third. Tere, with a handicap of seven minutes, won the 7j class race easily from Pupuke and Taioma. The race for launches was won by Power Chief from a field of six, Te Tiki being second, and Muritai third. Only eight seconds separated the placed boats. All the races were sailed under the sealed handicap system. The committee responsible for the running of the regatta sent all the boats away strictly to time.
