MAYORESS’S APPEAL
I The mayoress, Mrs A. H. Allen, makes an urgent appeal for 3,350 knitted skull caps, to be sent to the I troops to be worn under their helmets. These can be knitted very quickly from I one skein of wool. The instructions, if needed immediately, can be obtained ‘ from the D.S.A., but will ho printed
in the ‘ Star ’ on Wednesday next. The appeal is an urgent one, as it is hoped to put. a cap into each of the parcels to he sent away. The caps, when finished, can be left at the Patriotic Committee’s office in the basement of the Town Hall.
