INTERPROVINGIAL PLAY START OF TOURNAMENT DELAYED Adverse weather delayed the start of the iutcrprovincial matches held at Logan Park to-day under the auspices of Yho Otago Lawn Tennis Association. However, a start was made about 11.30 a.m., and the mixed doubles in each of the two competitions (South Canterbury v. North Otago and Otago v. Southland) wore played before Juneh. Bryan and Miss Kerr, for Otago, put up a very good showing against Whelan and Miss Wilson, but were slightly but definitely outclassed. Airs Adams, a Sonthlaiider, who has not previously been in action here, also put up a good performance with Baird against Robertson and Aiiss dolly. She is a grass court player, and the value of much of her play on the hard court was therefore lost. t In the North Otago-South Canterbury game AFKay, a left-hander from the' latter district, was noteworthy, covering the court very well and displaying” an aptitude for accurately placing his shots. Arbougall and Aiiss Miller lost to M‘Kay and Airs Benton, 6-3, 5-6, 3-0. Taylor and Mrs Goulden beat Satterthwaito and Airs Madox, 3-0, 6-5, 6-3.
