The Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council to-day rejected the application of the Upper Hutt E.S.A. for a pound for pound subsidy for a club room, to be used for entertaining soldiers from Trentham, on the ground that the call* upon the''funds for overseas patriotio purposes were too great and urgent to permit of this.
