CAPONE GANG ECHO A German at present interned in th# Isle of Man was the respondent in % divorce action heard by the President, Sir Boyd Merriman, in the Divorc# Court, Loudon. He is Mr Hugo C. K. Baruch, known as Jack Bilbo, and stated to be a liehtenant of Ai Capone, the American gangster. His wife, Mrs Alsace Loraine Baruch, of Harpenden ; Herts, was granted » decree nisi with costs on the ground of cruelty. The suit was not defended^ The marriage took place at Chelsea Register Office on July 19, 1938, 10 days after the parties ’had met. Mr* Baruch alleged that her husband did not behave normally from the first night of the marriage, and that ha attacked her with a whip. She left him on August 23, 1938, and had sinca lived with her parents, who objected to the marriage. Mrs Baruch denied a suggestion made by her husband that _ she refused to consummate the marriage.
