AIR FORCE BAND
VISIT TO DUNEDIN TAOi TRAINEES TO PARADE The Royal Air Force Band of 58 members, under the command of Flight-lieutenant Gladstone Hill, Director of Music, R.N.Z.A.F., which is touring New Zealand by permission of the Minister of Defence (Hon. F. Jones) in connection with the combined Provincial Patriotic Councils’ “ £1,000 ; - 000 Heart to Heart Appeal ” for patriotic purposes, will arrive in Dunedin from Invercargill on Friday morning by the 11.20 express. ‘The band will march from the station to the Town Hall, where the members will be appointed to the various citizens who have kindly consented to billot them during their stay in Dunedin. In the evening a spectacular parade will be held through the streets. The entire personnel of the Air Force from the Taiori Training Station will arrive by special train, disembarking at the Rattray street crossing at C. 40 The Air Force, under Squadron-leader G. L. S ted man. Officer Commanding, preceded by the Air Force Band, will then march through the city, leaving Rattray street at 6.55, The route will be past the Rank of New .Zealand, into Princes street, through the Octagon, whore the salute will bo taken by the mayor (Mr A H. Allen), along George street to St. Andrew street, past the Hospital, up Frederick street, and back along George street, through the Octagon "to the Town Hall. During the parade, tram and vehicular traffic in these sections will bq controlled. Tho band will give a concert in the Main Town Hall, commencing at 8 o’clock. The charge for admission will be Is to all parts, with the exception of reserved scats.
