TRAMS v. BUSES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In advocating the running of buses in place of trams on the Logan Park route, Cr Gibson on Monday night informed his fellow councillors that “ he had been over the ground carefully and he considered it very unfair to the people in the district to terminate the running of the trams at the bridge, as it would leave them half a mile to walk.” How carefully Cr Gibson must- have gone over the ground! Walking half a mile along the tram line from the bridge people in the district would arrive at the terminus of the line at Logan Park. As not one home exists within the wide radius of that terminus —the line was built purely for traffic to the Exhibition—the value of Cr Gibson’s explanation should have been apparent to councillors who, apart from Cr M’Crae, gave'their acquiescence to a move which hinders our war effort. —I am, etc., Busitis. November 5.
