RAILWAY DISASTER
EXCURSION TRAIN DERAILED IN SOMERSET THIRTY PEOPLE KILLED (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RGGBY, November 4. (Received November 5, at 10.5 a.m.) About 150 people were killed and many injured early to-day when an excursion passenger train from London to Penzance was derailed near Taunton (Somerset) The tragedy is understood to be due to an accident to the track, causing tho engine and several coaches to leave the rails. Between 30 and 40 of the injured are in hospital. A.R.P. services assisted in the rescue work, during which several sleeping children wpre brought out unhurt. TWENTY-FOUR DEAD LONDON, November 4. (Received November 5, at 11.30 a.m.) Twenty-four were killed and 39 injured, including 20 seriously, in tho train smash.
