Advice that fires have been ' started by hot cinders emptied by .motorists on the roadside from gas producers has been received by the Transport Minister. “ The road surface is likely to be damaged, and the tar seal may even be ignited," said Air Semple. " Cinders should not ho dumped on bitumen or any part of the roadside from which a fire might spread, or near Native busk or pine trees.’’ —Press Association.
