SPITFIRE FUND In the Strand Theatre, at noon on Friday, a special appeal will be made for the SpitQre Fund, and those wishing to support this worthy cause should send their gifts to Mr J. IV Himburg at Bcgg’s, and all amounts will be acknowledged over the air. By permission of the Minister of Defence the band of'the Royal New Zealand Air Force, under the conduclorshin of Flight-lieutenant Gladstone Hill, will march from the railway station on arrival of the Invercargill express, and escort the Air Force Queen (Miss Mary Pratt) to the theatre. Members of the Air Force from Taieri will receive the queen and conduct her to the stage. Mr H. P. Desmoulins will be the leader with Mr A. Pettitt at the piano.
