OVERSEAS CARGO RATES
15 PER CENT. SURCHARGE OPERATIVE AFTER NOVEMBER I [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 4. The associated overseas lines in the New Zealand trade have been advised from Loudon that all existing consolidated schedule rates of freight on both refrigerated and general cargo from Now Zealand to the United Kingdom are subject to an addition of; 15 per cent, surcharge, taking .effect with vessels commencing to load ,at any port after midnight on November 6; but for vessesl which have already commenced loading at any port before that time and date, the present rates will apply to the total / loadings of such vessels at such ports, and the increased rates apply to their subsequent loading at ports. Australian homeward rates are similarly increased. ' " 1
It was previously reported that the surcharge would be operative from December 1.
