BOMBERS OVER BERLIN

R.A.F. Visits German Capital Splinters and Pamphlets in Streets Damage Concealed From Public Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, August 27. (Received August 28, at 1 p.m.) Berlin last night had its second raid in two days. According to the Berlin correspondent of the Swedish paper ‘ Dagens Nyheter ’ 30 planes were over the city last night. The streets were strewn with shell splinters and pamphlets. A German agency in a report confines itself to a statement that a single plane flew over the city but did not drop any bombs. The alarm lasted 86 minutes. According to the Berlin correspondent of the ‘ New York Times ’ the raids are the chief subject of conversation in that city, and the inhabitants are wondering whether they are going to become a nightly occurrence. The correspondent adds that a number of injuries were caused by the German anti-aircraft shells. Commenting on the first raid on the German capital, another American correspondent stated that following the raid three streets were roped off, and it was impossible to approach near enough to see how much damage bad been done by the British bombs.
