ACCLIMATISATION AFFAIRS
OTAGO SOCIETY MEETS The monthly-meeting of the Council of the Otago, Acclimatisation.. ; Society was held last night, Mr 11. Fountain being in the chair. The reports of the various committees were read and . adopted. The Gama Committee reported that the feeding of ducks in certain areas should commence this week. Mr J. M. Paterson mentioned that rings for the hawks it was intended to liberate had already been ordered. ,It was recommended, that the Imperial Chemical Industrie* Ltd., London, be asked for information as to the breeding of pheasants, Mr Fountain announced that a further 200 pheasants would be liberated in districts adjacent to Dunedin. ,I* was anticipated that these would enjoy the protection of sportsmen and property owners during the breeding season.
