BOARD OF DIRECTORS At the monthly meeting of the Y.W.C.A. Board of Directors Mrs Fairbairn presided, and also present were Mesdames C. M. Begg, R. W. S. Betting, R. Ellis, H. H. Parata, H. D. Skinner, Misses Frances J. Ross, M. U. Begg, A. Permiu. , The General Secretary reported that Mrs C Kerr had consented to act as second National Board member, and that Mr W. R. Brugh would act as honorary solicitor .during the absence of Air C. B. Barrowclough. The gift table of goods was provided by members of the World Fellowship Committee. Mrs Ellis agreed to ask members of the Health and Recreation Committee to supply the table for the next meeting. Mrs C. M. Begg notified members of the proposed formation of a District Local Council of the Women’s War Services Auxiliary in Dunedin, and slated that a public meeting would be held in the Concert Chamber, followed by a delegates’ meeting for all women’s' organisations, at which the council would be elected. Several delegates to the meeting were appointed. Plans were made for entertaining the men of the forces at tho United Services Club in SeptcD.ber. Miss P Jones took as her subject during the study period extracts from the ‘ Elgin House Papers ’ dealing with the Y W.C.A. as a Christian youth movement.
The date of the annual meeting was fixed for September 25. Mrs Begg reported on the business of the National Executive, and Mrs 11. Ellis on,the annual meeting of the Vocational Guidance Association. The General Secretai'y reported on the meeting of the National Council of Women, and also briefly reported on the successful Y.W.C.A. open house night, held on August 20. Tentative plans were made for Mi«s Mormnef's visit in October, and also for the World Fellowship bazaar.
