ST. JOHN BABY CONTEST.
TO THE EDITOIt. Sir, —I see by to-day’s paper that the first screenings of the babies in the St. John. Ambulance contest will be shown this week. Could you inform mo whether each group is to be shown on several different nights? It is a recognised fact that a theatre audience is much larger on a Saturday night than any other, while some other nights are poorly attended, thus a Saturday screening would give a child of that group a decided advantage.—l am, etc., Cuaious. May 1. [As previously explained, each group will be shown on a different night each week. Experience in the north has shown that during the running of this contest week-night audiences have been as big and in some cases bigger than those of Saturday night, and a similar state of affairs is expected here. One point which has not so far been stressed is that any person may vote for any child, any night at all, irrespective -of whether that child has been screened on the night of the voter’s attendance at the theatre.—Ed., E.S.]
