SEX OFFENCES
FOUR MAORIS CHARGED United Press Association,j DARGAVILLE, April 24. In the Magistrate’s Court, before Messrs F. A. Jones and E. S. P. Young, justices' of the peace, four Maoris were each charged with carnal knowledge of young Maori girls. The charges were not related. The accused were committed to the Supreme Court. Wati Keri Tohu, aged 39, of Kaihu, pleaded guilty. Bail was refused. Raymond Edwards, aged 41, of Naumai, a man with a family of 10, pleaded not guilty. Bail of £IOO and one surety was allowed Pere , Cassidy, aged 48, of Kaihu, pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence. Dick Reharry, aged 18, of Kaihu, pleaded guilty. Bail of £IOO and one surety was allowed.
