TRAMWAY CONCESSION TICKETS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Surely it is time that the tramways department arranged for both the ticket boxes at the Exchange to be open at the same time during the lunch hours—l2 to 1 and 1 till 2 p.m. It would be surprising to know how many people have missed their trams home owing to having to line up at one ticket box. Hoping the department can see its way clear to assist tram users to get to their homes ns quickly as possible,— I am, etc., Both Boxes. April 26. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —There has been a little controversy lately regarding the a_dvisability of conductors selling concession tickets on the trams. As I am a conductor on the Wellington trams, maybe_ I could say my piece? Selling concession cards on the Dunedin cars would be like eating pie. I have not seen a decentlypacked car yet. In Wellington we get loads at peak times that we can hardly get through, but we sell concession cards without any trouble, and, what is more,
we enjoy it. It is just as easy to sell a concession card as a cash ticket. Might I also suggest that the tramways department give a thought to modernising its.tram service and tramsr Wellington recently put into commission 25 new cars that compare favourably with the latest cars in America, and they were built in the department s own workshops.—l am, etc April 26.
