WELLINGTON V. AUCKLAND GILLIGAN’S CHANGELESS CENTURY [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND. March 15. Wellington compiled 202 under perfect conditions in a veterans’ cricket match against Auckland for the Centennial Cup. Both sides contained several players, and the game created keen interst. A feature of the play wasHhe chanceless 101 by F. W. Gilligan, of Wellington, whose splendid stroke play provided an object lesson. His century occupied 148 minutes, and included six boundaries. W. Rowntree, the veteran international wicketkeeper, gavo a sterling display and showed _ that his stumping had Idst none of its speed. Player and C. A. The Christchurch Boys’ High School was beaten by Wellington College by seven wickets in the annual match, which was concluded to-day. Christchurch Boys made 69 and 311, and Wellington made 316 and 79 for three wickets.
