OBITUARY
MR KYNOLDS DRIVER The death occurred on Saturday of , Mr Reynolds Driver, who was the second son of Mr Henry Driver. Bora in Dunedin, he was educated at the. Orokonui College under the late Rev, R. L. Stanford, and later at the Waitaki Boys’ High School. -After Maying school Mr Driver was employed in banking and in his fathers coal mining business. Later he went t® Western Australia, where he Eyed for many years, and then to Melbourne. On the outbreak of the Great War in 1914, Mr Driver’s ..son -ejilisted, and Mr Driver also decided to enlist, and father and son went with the Australian mounted troops to Egypt. On his return from the war, Mr Dnyer became involved in an action with tnw Victorian Government over timber con? tracts, and very costly litigation ensued. In 1931 he returned to Dunedin and was employed by the New Zealand Forestry Department. He was appointed manager of the Taratu CoM Company on the death of his brother-in-law (Mr J. R. Cheesman), who had been previously manager of the nnn, and he later commenced business ra tal ov i account in the coal mining trade, Two or three years agohewentto Jive with his daughter (Mrs G. B. Mohneux) was a keen follower of the sport of horse racing. In 1893 he rode his horse Waitangi nr the Otago Hunt Club Cup, without success, but he roue the same horse into second place in tne cup in the following year. He was of a very bright and happy disposition, and it was always a pleasure to meet hl Mr Driver is survived by a som?*® lives in Australia, and a daughter (Mra Moliueux).
