BATTALIONS OF IRISH AND WELSH GUARDS (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Coyjjrigbt RUGBY, February 14. (Received February 15, at noon.) A battalion of Irish Guards and one of the Welsh Guards received new Colours from the King, who, as their colonel-in-chief, made the presentation. The Irish Guards’ ceremony took place in the Wellington Barracks parade ground, where the battalion was drawn up in a hollow square. After the inspection the new Colours were laid on piled drums and consecrated by the Catholic Bishop-in-Ordinary to the Army and then handed over by His Majesty to the colour party. As is customary, the whole battalion, together with the new Colours, marched past the King. The picturesque ceremony was repeated at the Tower, whe#e the battalion of the Welsh Guards was stationed.
