ASHBY. —On February 14th, 1940, at Dunedin, Allan, dearly beloved husband of Jessie Ashby, of Karori, Wellington. “ Forever with the Lord.”—The Funeral will leave 18 Mitchell Avenue, Mornington, To-morrow (Thursday), the 15th inst., at 2.30 p.m., for the Anderson's Bay Cemetery.—R. M'Lean and Son, funeral directors. BRETT.—On February 13. 1940, at 347 (leorge street, George Wills, eldest son of the late George and Mabel Brett, formerly of Gore.—Private interment. Hope and Kinoston, funeral directors. CLARKE.—On February 13, 1940, at Dunedin, 3709 Private James L. Clarke (South African War Veteran), dearly beloved husband of Mary Clarke, Pigeon Flat, and second son of Mr and Mrs E. S. Clarke, Woodhaugh; aged 60 years. “At rest.”—The Funeral will leave Holy Innocents’ Anglican Church, Woodhaugh, on Thursday, the 15th inst., at 2 p.m. (service at 1.45 p.m.), for the Anderson’s Bay Cemetery.—Hope and Kinaston, funeral directors. POWLEY.—On February 13, 1940, at Milton, Joseph, dearly beloved husband of Honoria Powley, of Union street, Milton; aged 59 years. R.l.P.—The Funeral will leave St. Mary’s Church, Milton, on Thursday, 15th inst., at 2 p.m., for Fairfax Cemetery. Requiem Mass Thursday morning, at 8 o’clock.—J. R. Wilson, funeral director, Milton.
