SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP AT BALMACEWEN The Council of the New Zealand Golf Association has decided that the South Island (close) amateur championship of 1940 will be played in conjunction with the Otago Club’s Easter tournament at Balmacewen. The necessary qualification is three months’ residence in the South Island and membership of an affiliated club in the island. ST. GLAIR LADIES' CLUB The club played a Stableford bogey match yesterday with the following results:—A grade: Airs APCarthy, 21— 5—26. B grade; Airs Osborne, C—lß —24. CHISHOLM PARK CLUB The first annual meeting of the newly-formed ladies’ week-end section of the Chisholm Park Club was held! on Alonday, when Air H. Davies, club captain, presided. There was a good attendance of members, and an enjoyable year is looked forward to by ail. The following officers were elected: —Club captain, Miss D. Richdale; secretary, Aliss V. Hamer; committee— Misses Leyland, Carr, Gore, and O’Daniels; representative to Men’s Committee, Mr E. Falconer.
