CHILDREN’S CELEBRATION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir x heard over the wireless thin . morning that no children under Standard 11. would ho taken to Wingatui oa February 20. Children under this ago can go, 'providing the parents pay their train fare and provide their own food. I have four children under Standard 11., and to take them I have to pay 3a 6d train fare and, say, 10s for food—13s 6d for a day’s outing that is supposed to be for school children and free.Would it not have been possible to giva the-younger children a day out at Forbury Park or Logan Park ? In my case alone, and I suppose several others ; not one child in the family will participate in the outing. This does not seen* fair, as the children have been looking forward to the day.—l am, etc., Mother of Four. February 12.
