Mr Van den Bergh, director of margarine production, distribution, protested to the 8.8. C. for pronouncing margarine with the “g ” soft. According to Mr Van den Bergh the “ g ” should be hard, as in Margaret. The derivation is from the Greek “ marga,” a pearl.—Puck, in * Tit-Bits,’ London.
