UNION WINS FOURS AND EIGHTS NEW SOUTH WALES CREWS BEATEN [Per Uimted Press Association.] WANGANUI, February 11. The Wanganui regatta was neld on Saturday in wet weather, but good water conditions. A feature of the day was the win of Union in _ the senior fours and the senior eights from Clifton and New South Wales respectively. In the fours Union won by half a length, and in the eights by a canvas after a fine finish. 11. Smith (Auckland) won the single sculls from K. Webb (New South Wales) hy a good margin. Results; — Maiden Fours (open).—Union 1, Aramoho 2, Victoria University 3. W 7 on by four lengths, with a length between second and third. Senior Fours.—Union 1. Clifton 2, Aramoho 3. Won by half a length, with three lengths between second and third. Maiden Single Sculls.—Petone 1, Aramoho 2, Napier 3. Won by five lengths, with two lengths between second and third. Maiden Fours (lOst). —Wanganui 1, Star 2, Clifton 3. Senior Single Sculls.—ll. Smith (Auckland) 1, K. Webb (New South Wales) 2, T. Hegglun (Wellington) 3. At the New South Wales championship regatta on tlio Nepean River Pearce did not defend the single sculls title, which was won by M. Wood by 100yds from Turner and Hillyard in 21niin 27 4-ssec. Balmain won the eights and Nepean the fours.
