SPORTS POSTONED
WET WEATHER IN CHRISTCHURCH . A week of hot weather in Christchurch, with boisterous north-west, winds, ended early on Saturday, when, with a change to the south-west, heavy rain set in arid continued intermittently until the evening. The rain was sufficient to cause a postponement of sporting fixtures, including cricket, lawn tennis, bowls, and the Lyttelton Centennial regatta.
