T. " TWO U-BOATS SUNKLONDON, February 9.—lt is offhir.lly anr.orr.red that a destroyer lias destroyed two U-boats. The Admiralty announces that the destroyer sank the U-boats when they Avero attacking a convoy. It is not the normal practice to announce sinkings as they occur, but an exception Avas made on this occasion. TENSION IN BALKANS. LONDON, February 9. —Tension in the Balkans lias heightened. Turkey has uncovered evidence of a netAvork of Nazi agents ready to ■perpetrate explosions and train Avrecks at a signal from Berlin and considers it impossible to allow Germans to remain in strategic positions; It is alleged that German agents caused the explosion on the steamer Tintern Abbey, on January 30.
