A NEW HOME FOR THE PRINCESSES

Royal Lodge, the King’s house in the middle of Windsor Great Park, is being prepared as an evacuation home for Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. The Princesses will go there immediately after the Court returns from Sandringham. This arrangement will give the King and Queen an opportunity of seeing their daughters at regular intervals. The Princesses motored with the Queen from Sandr riugham to King’s Lynn one day and helped her to make purchases at a department store. Among the things they bought were five fireside chairs, handbags at 7s lid, cushions, aprons at 2s 6d, and bundles of pipe lighters.
