LEAGUE V. UNIVERSITY CLUB Conditions were anything but favourable for the two-night match between the University Club and a representative league team which was commenced on Wednesday night on the University Oval. The home team batted, first and compiled a total of 129, the principal run-getters being Lawson 42, Morrison, Clark 17 each, and Falvey 13., Eight members of the league team were used as bowlers, six of them taking wk&eta —J. Mattingly (three for 28), J. Dixon (two for 17), Cullen (pne for 5), Harwood (one for 9), W. Templeton (one for 10), and J. Skinner (one for ll)«i R. Walker, behind the wickets, was responsible for two being stumped and one run out. The early league men did not get time, to settle down, Clark (five for 24) and Falvey (three for 8) made a procession, seven,batsmen being out with only 29 on the books. R. Walker and Day put. on 30 runs between them, but both lost their wickets Ibw, the league innings dosing at 60. The fielding of the .University team was excellent.
