MOOREFIELD HANDICAP. LORD VALENTINE, 7.8 (Lappin) 1 Last Chance, 6.7 (Dood) ... 2 Legion Bird, 7.10 (Watterson) ... o Seven started. Won by two lengths and a-half, with three lengths between second and third. Lappin rode three successive winners, .including both divisions of the Flying Welter Handicap. feix favourites in seven races won, and some bookmakers were reported to be unable to meet their obligations until to-morrow. MENTONE MEETING MELBOURNE. February 4. At the Mentone races the principal event resulted as follows: J. L. REILLY STAKES. One mile and a-quarter. LADY KOORINGAL, 7.4 (M'Lachlan) I Macrob, 7.3 (Ralph) 2 Royal Jubilee, 8.9 (Hall) 3 Eleven started. Won by two lengths, with a neck between second and third. Time, 2min 2|sec —a course record. In the Summer Hurdle Handicap M. Fryer’s Hunting Song gelding Soloist finished second.
