MUNICIPAL FINANCE
USE OF RENEWAL FUNDS REPLACING WABN-OUT PLANT A request from tlie Renewal Fund commissioners for the sum of £25,000, the amount required by the City Council next year for the purpose of replacing worn-out or obsolete plant and material, will be considered by the council at its meeting on Monday night. The Finance Committee has recommended that, in terms of the Dunedin City Council Empowering Act, 1914, it bo resolved that a demand be made on the Renewal Fund commissioners for payment of the 'sum of £25,000, such sum being the amount required by the council during the financial year ending March 31, 1940, for the purpose of replacing plant and materia] that has become worn out or obsolete or is incapable from any other cause of further usefulness. Particulars of the work required to be done and the estimated total cost are as follows: —Electricity Department.—
