THE GRAF SPEE. MONTEVIDEO, December 15. Late in the afternoon Dr Guani (Minister of Foreign Affairs) re- ■ ceived successively the French, British, German, and United States Ministers. It is unofficially stated that the Graf Spec must leave before 8.55 p.m. on Sunday, 72 hours after the naval exports reported her seaworthiness to Dr Guani. GUNNER KILLED AT BATTERY POINT. Overbalancing and falling 20ft on to the rocks below a gunner stationed at Battery Point was killed almost instantaneously this morning. He was William David Burke, of Invercargill, aged 20. He was tipping rubbish over a cliff when he lost his balance and fell, striking his head on the rocks—Christchurch Association. THE TAIROA. The Tairoa, the first indication of whose destruction was the landing of the company from the Graf Spec along .with men from other victims, carried a crew of 80.
