IN GOOD ORDER
STATE OF BEACHES TEMPERATURES MILDER All the local beaches are reported to' be in good order for surf-bathing at the present time, but surfers cannot be too strongly urged to keep between the flags. Experienced surf life-savers inspect the beaches for the purpose of ascertaining the safest parts, and theit mark these with the flags. At St. Clair, there is a channel offshore which should be watched, and also a rip towards St. Hilda, but th# beach generally is in good condition. The St. Kilda beach is in exceptionally good order at present, there being an absence of rips and holes, while at Tomahawk the beach is. in good order, there being a very light, moderate sea, and the temperature of the water is mild. In the centre of the beach there are some holes, but the portion marked by the flags is safe for bathing. ■ « ■
