There is. still time to sow seed for lawns and also for renovating bare patches. Those who made sowings earlier should now make the first cutting. It is not advisable to cut down too close at the first cutting. It is better to go over the surface three or four times before it is cut down very close. Where grass is poor a good dressing of artificial manure can be given at this £tage. P.S.P.
