WARNING TO BATHERS
ST. HILDA BEACH DANGEROUS CHANNEL JUST OFFSHORE AT ST. CLAIR SURF TEMPERATURES REASONABLY MILD With the exception of St. Kilda, Dunedin beaches were quite favourable for surf bathing this morning, with mild water and good beach surfaces. There were dangerous holes at St. Kilda. Tomahawk Beach is in good order, while the temperature of the water is mild. Conditions for, bathing are good between the flags, but there are a few holes midway that should be avoided. Good conditions prevail at St. Clair, though there is still a channel just off shore that imposes caution. The water is reasonably mild. Though fairly heavy seas were running during this week, they did not bear away much sand. Danger spots on the St. Kilda Beach will have to bo avoided. The seas of this week have made some holes that might cause trouble to bathers, and the Surf Club reel is ready on shore. If the present wind direction is maintained, however, conditions should improve speedily.
