OLDEST NEW ZEALAND-BORN WOMAN i [Pee United Peess Association.! WANGANUI, October 21. The death is announced of Mrs Eliot Rockel, in her ninety-seventh year. She was born at Wellington in 1843,, and is believed to have been the oldest New Zealand-born woman. After her marriage in 1866 she lived at Masterton for two years, and.for 40 years in the Carnarvon district, coming to Wanganui 19 years ago on the death- of her husband.
