CREATION OF AIR RESERVE I ; Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyrighf CANBERRA, August 24. • The Prime Minister (Mr R. Q. Menzies) announced to-day _ compre* hensive plans for the creation of * civilian air reserve by subsidising tin* training of about 3,000 pilots inth* next three years. The is prepared to pay substantial subsidies to aero clubs and flying-training schools, and opportunity would be afforded to scores of air-minded young men of good physique to obtain cheap flying instruction, with the added advantage of serving their country in its hour of need.
