QUIET WEEK EXPERIENCED NAVEL ORANGES ARRIVED TO-DAY -Reilly's report that a quiet period has been, experienced during the week. Good quality dessert apples have a satisfactory inquiry? and better values are now being secured for first-grade lines. Small grade fruit is still difficult to place at satisfactory values. Cooking apples have a good demand, and both dessert and cooking pears are realising, good values. Increased supplies of out flowers are meeting with satisfactory sales. An excellent demand has been experienced for oranges and a further shipment arrived by the Waitaki today. The fruit will consist of navels, which should have a good inquiry. A shipment of Australian grapefruit also arrived ex this vessel. A further consignment of New Zealand lemons is advised to arrive during the week. The fruit, which is of very fine quality, is meeting with a satisfactory demand. Small- consignments of marmalade oranges continue to arrive, and values are higher. Niue and Samoan bananas are due to arrive next Tuesday per the Maui Pom are. Vegetables are meeting with a good demand. Cabbage are in fair supply, but cauliflowers are maintaining satisfactory values. Good quality lettuces have an inquiry. Prices for both carrots and parsnips are remaining firm. Swede turnips are in good supply. Table potatoes are _ maintaining high values, with a good inquiry for King Edwards. Supplies of seed potatoes are very short of the demand experienced. Canterbury onions show a firming in values, and some very fine quality consignments are being received. Good quality clover honey is meeting with steady sales. Eggs.—Consequent on the heavier supplies now available, due in part to incubating requirements being filled, the market experienced a further decline in values to-day, guaranteed eggs now selling at Is 9d a dozen. Poultry.—There was an excellent demand for all lines at Wednesday’s sale, prices showing an all-round firming in values.
