ANNUAL BALL
COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS ENTERTAIN All the elements of a successful dance were combined in the annual ball of the Commercial Travellers’ Club, which was held on Friday evening at the Pioneer Hall. Music, floor, decorations, supper, and the spirit of the company were all excellent, and the ball was certainly the best the club has held. Floor shows included a tap ballet given by pupils of Miss Constance Potts, and an exhibition of ballroom dancing by Miss Kitty Eckhoff and Mr Garland. The principal members of the club and special guests were welcomed by the president (Mr Gordon Hewitt) ami Mrs Hewitt (who wore black taffeta and a small coatee, with fine cire stripes in fuchsia and emeraW). Her capo was of skunk fur. Seated with her in the lounge arranged at the far end of the hall were the mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) and Mrs Allen, Mr Horace M'Lean (past president), Mrs M'Lean, Commander Fraser (of the Royal Naval Reserve) and Mrs Fraser, and Mr and Mrs A. Smellie. The members of the Ball Committee included Messrs G. Avery (chairman), who was accompanied by Mrs Avery; the joint secretaries, Messrs E. Griffin and A. Strachan, who were accompanied by Mrs Griffin and Mrs Strachan, Mr and Mrs Gordon Blue, Mr and Mrs C. Mathias, Mr and Mrs J. Harvey Allan, Mr and Mrs W. Palmer, Mr and Mrs 0. Jarvis, Mr and Mrs A.
