ADMITTANCE DF WOMEN MEMBERS Interest in the activities of the Dunedin Amateur Woodworkers’ and Handicrafts Club by women is steadily increasing, and as its functions were originally intended to cater for them it has been decided to invite those interested to attend a meeting to-morrow-evening in the workshop, 206 George street (at the head of the right-of-way) ' when they will be given the opportunity of placing their views before the club’s committee for submission to a general meeting of members on Thursday, August 31.. On the latter date there is to be in addition a lecture about suitable timbers_ for different jobs, the address being given by Mr W. G. White. , . . The membership of this organisation Has grown appreciably lately, and there has also been an 'excellent attendance each night at the workshop. While quite a number of members have yet to finish their benches, the majority have commenced_ to construct useful objects, one enthusiast even reaching the stage when he will soon be putting the finishing touches to a suite of furniture, which will he,the subject of an article by -‘-‘Cornice.’’.
