SOME SLIGHT LOSSES MARKED A.C.I.S QUOTED EX. RIGHTS An easier trend marked operations in transtasman scrip this morning, both industrials and metals displaying hesitance. Dominion issues held late rates with strong support for selected lines. Business was fairly good, although restricted to local stocks. Broken Hill Proprietaries eased to between £3 7s-£3 Bs, while Coles finished with best buyers at £3 18s, Is 6d below holders’ limits. Sydney Woolworths had declared purchasers at £1 5s 3d, but they failed to attract a response. Colonial Sugars, which changed hands late yesterday at £39 7s 6d. were wanted at £49. Australian Consolidated Industries were quoted ex. rights at sellers £1 17s, but the rights did not find a market. Metals were lethargic, with little distinct movement. Bank of New Zealands had another transaction at £2, with firm buyers maintaining £1 19s 9d limits at the dose. Nationals were again sought at £2 7s, while insurances were well supported. Prominent among industrials were New Zealand Paper Mills, which opened between £1 6s-£T 7s, while N.Z. Drugs had a reported transaction at £3 9s 6d.
