AFTER SIX MONTHS
ARREST ON FRAUD CHARGE [Per United Press Association.] NELSON, 'August 21. Arrested at Riwalka early yesterday morning after a mysterious disappearance from Auckland, Eric Stanley Watts, alias Stanley Bray, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Motueka today on a charge that on about January 17, 1939, at Auckland, he obtained the sum of £173 from Thomas Arthur Taylor by means of a false pretence—namely, by falsely representing that he was authorised by the T. and G. Assurance Society to sell a surrendered policy that was actually • held for sale by the firm mentioned, whereas, in fact, no such policy existed. Constable Smith said that the warrant had been issued from Auckland. The accused was remanded to appear at Auckland on August 23j
