SOUTH ISLAND MAORI TEAM MATCH AT GISBORNE NEXT SATURDAY The South Island Maori tokm, which will play the Maoris of Bay of Plenty, East Coast, and Poverty (Bay at Gisborne on Saturday in a match for the Prince of Wales Cup, has been selected as follows Backs.— I T. Parata (Otago), H, Steele (Otago). T. B. E. Love (Marlborough), T. Broughton (Otago), 0. E. Hellish (Marlborough), N. Paewai (Otago), and J. M. Martin (Southland). Forwards.—B. Ward (Golden BayMotueka), D. Mann (Marlborough), O. Burkin (Canterbury), A. West (Southland), T. Robinson (Canterbury), T. West (Southland), T. Bates (Otago). D. Ward (Golden Bay-Motueka). and —. Merritt (Otago). The Southland and Otago members of the team went north this morning, with Mr W. T. Parata as manager, and the others will join the party en, route. Mr E. M'Kenzie and Mr Parata will later select the New Zealand Maori team to play the visiting Fijian team at Hamilton on September 30.
