STRUCK WRECKAGE
FRENCH MOTOR TORPEDO BOAT COMMANDER AND QUARTERMASTER DROWNED (Independent Cable Service.) Frets Association—By Telegraph— Copyright PARIS, August 8. (Received August 9, at 11 a.m.) A French motor torpedo boat speeding at 35 knots struck wreckage iu the English Channel north-west of Dieppe last night and sank immediately. The commander and quartermaster were drowned. The remaining six of the crew clung to a raft for nearly 12 hours before being picked up by a French freighter.
