THE JUDGMENT HOUR

EVANGELIST'S ADDRESS A fervent address, evidently animated by the speaker’s conviction of its truth, was delivered by Evangelist Uttley in the Strand Theatre last night. In introducing the subject, ‘ The Judgment Hour: The Heavenly Court in Session,’ the speaker clearly showed that the longest time prophecy in the Bible—vis:., the 2.300 years of Daniel viii, 14 — ended in 1844. At this time commenced the investigative judgment of men and women professing Christ. This was not the executive judgment. “ The judgment teaching is displeasiug to men and women seeking the pleasures of the world,” continued the speaker; “ nevertheless, it is true, it is sure. Acts xvii.. 30. 31, proves that “God hath appointed a day in which He will judge the world,” and IT. Cor., v., 10, “ Wo must all appear before the judgment bar of God”; therefore we cannot evade it. Two thousand five hundred years ago Daniel saw the heavenly court in session (Daniel vii., 0. 10) ; 200 years later John, speaking of these last days, reveals that “ the hour of His judgment is come ” (Rev. xiv, 6,7). This is now sounding, and the message is now warning the world before Christ comes. The investigative judgment is now sitting. God is the judge. Christ is the advocate, the angels and the hooks are the witnesses. In the books every detail is recorded: “ For God shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing, whether it bo good or evil.” (Eecles. xii.. 14.) Is it nossible for the courts of the land to function without a code of law? asked the speaker. “ What, thou, is God’s standard in the judgment? James ii.. 12, reveals the answer to he the enduring tables written with the finger of a living God—the Ten Commandments (v. 11). We shall be judged by the law of liberty. If we ignore God’s law to-day, how will it fare with ns in the court of God? “ Whosoever shall confess Die before men, him will 1 confess before My Father; but whosoever shall deny Me before men him Will I also deny before My Father,” —(Matthew x.. 32. 33.) The hooks in the judgment are being balanced down through the years; the work has proceeded from _ righteous Abel onward. Finally it finishes, and the decree goes forth: “ He that is unjust let him be unjust still, and be which is filthy let him be filthy still, and he that is righteous let him be righteous still, and he that is holv let him fie holy still.”—(Rev. xxii., 11.1 “ The destiny of every man is deckled and Jesus cries: ‘ Behold. I come onicklv m’d Mv reward is with Me ’ (v. 11). He judges, then conies to give the reward.” (Eecles., xii. 13.14.) “ To-dav Jesus is your Saviour. Tomorrow He will he your Judge.” A feature of these addresses are the stage illiistrat'ous used. Nexf week’s snbiect will fie ‘ Europe, RaVstine, the Jew.’
