BUILDERS’ AFFAIRS
ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The Dunedin Builders’ Association held its annual meeting on Thursday evening, when Mr W. H. Naylor presided over a fully representative attendance of members. The annual report, which fully covered the principal matters dealt with by the association and the Federation during the past year, and the statement of receipts and expenditure, which disclosed an entirely satisfactory financial position, were unanimously adopted. , In his address to the meeting in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the chairman expressed his gratification of the position which the association had reached both in regard to membership and finance. While thanking the members of the executive and others who had given their support during his two years of office as president, he stressed the point which had been mentioned in the report that it would be greatly to the advantage of the association and to themselves individually if a larger number of members attended the general monthly meetings. The report covered the main activities of the association and of/ the New Zealand Master Builders’ Federation, but there were many other matters which came up for consideration at general meetings to which added value would be given by a larger attendance of members. . The chairman, having made appreciative reference to the very valuable services rendered by Mr Walter Lllis as the association’s assessor on the Conciliation Councils which had sat during the year to deal with disputes affecting the building industry, concluded his remarks with an expression ot thanks to the secretary and his staff for their efficient service and unfailing courtesy.
