THE “KING-HALL NEWS LETTER”
NOT SPONSORED BY GOVERNMENT (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, July 21. i (Received July 22, at 11 a.m.) Mr R. A. Butler was questioned in the House of Commons about German allegations that the distribution of the “ King-Hall News Letter ” in Germany was being undertaken with Britain’s support, and he was asked whether he would take steps to make the truth about this known in Germany. Mr Butler replied: “ Yes, and I take this opportunity of repeating the categorical denial given in the Britith Broadcasting Corporation’s German broadcasts on July 14, that Britain is in any way connected with or responsible for these letters. Mr Stephen King-Hall himself published a letter in the Press on Wednesday last stating that it was completely untrue that he was in the pay of the Foreign Office or that Lord Halifax had assisted him in the composition of his letters.”
