[From Our Oasjaru Correspondent.] NORTH SCHOOL COMMITTEE. At the monthly meeting of the Oamaru North School Committee the head master (Mr W. E. Judkins) reported a roll number of 485 and average attendance 440. He recommended linking up with the library .service for the children. It was decided to commemorate the Dominion centenary by planting 60 native trees and 50 English trees on Arbor Day. It was reported that the new side school was completed. The inspector’s report on the school was very favourable. WESLEY CHURCH. At the quarterly meeting of Wesley Church the excellent work done by the Bev. and Mrs Pickering was referred to by Air 0. A. Wylie, and an invitation "was extended to thorn to remain in the circuit for another terra. They acceded to the request. Airs Grocqtt was congratulated on her work as mission collector. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. Air P. W. Hargreaves presided at a meeting of the North Otago Horticultural Society. The national dahlia' show for 1941 was offered to the society and it was decided to accept the offer. The National Dahlia Society advised that the size of pom-pom dahlias for show purposes was IJin to l;}in. THE RAINFALL. During the 24 hours to 9 a.m. yesterday 34 points of rain fell in Oamaru, making 185 points for the month. PLUNKET SOCIETY, At the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Plunket Society the country nurse reported as follows:—Visits to homes 175, visits to rooms 82 (32 adults, 29 babies, 15 older children),' new cases 6.
