TAIERI HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING Tlio animal meeting of the above society was presided over by llr J. F. M'Cartney. The annual report and balance sheet wore adopted. The following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr S. K. Pilling; vice-presidents, Messrs S. M'Millan (senior) and 11. Renton (junior) ; secretary and treasurer, Miss M. Swallow; committee—Messrs S. K. Pilling. J. F. M'Cartney, J. A. Aitken, J. A. Borne, J. R. Brown, S. M'Millan, A. '\V. M'Cunn, R. Renton, Mesdames J. Kirkland, P. Johnston, G. Smith, and W. Korner. Miss M'Pherson. The following were appointed a committee to revise the show schedule: — Mrs Korner, Miss M'Pherson, Messrs J. F. M'Cartney, S. E. Pilling, and J. A. Borrie. The retiring president (Mr J. F. M'Cartney) expressed his thanks to the committee for its assistance and cooperation, Mr J. R. Brown moved a vote of thanks to Mr M'Cartney for his unfailing assistance ns president of the society, and Mr Renton endorsed his remarks It was decided to bold the spring show in 'm. Luke's Hall on Saturday, October 7.
